I really liked them as "local colour" that made the course unique and its 'own place'.


It's a moot point if I'd still feel that way seeing them every week.

Muldoon. Mayhugh and I snuck in a final round at Bamburgh Castle.  It was a terrific finish to the trip.  The course is a rollicking adventure up and over a big hill along a gorgeous stretch of coastline.  Usually, post event golf is a bit of a letdown but this time it was a perfect way to finish the trip.

In June I will be riding the first three stages of this year's Tour de France route for charity.  630km (394 miles) in three days, with 7800m (25,600 feet) of climbing for the William Wates Memorial Trust (https://rideleloop.org/the-charity/) which supports underprivileged young people.

I had hoped a few more would squeeze in a round at Bamburgh Castle.  The golf isn't as good as the two "event" courses but it's fun and the views are better than any other course I have ever played, CPC included.
