Aerial of the Day #424 - 28 Oct 2003
« on: October 28, 2003, 09:47:10 AM »
Continuing NLE Week, the next NLE course could be a little
more familiar to some, as the property shape is distinct and
looks awfully familiar...

Did Rees ever do work on this course? (Bunkering)

Shares part of the name with a new course on the GM
Top 100 list that got some head-scratching.

Apparently there are some cliffs nearby.

Other part of name is last name shared by 2 alums of SNL in the 80's.

Nobody home today....

"Intruder" to GM Top 100 is a current thread topic.

Current course on this site is the Best Course in the State
(according to the owner) - recycled clue - in high-rent district.

Rhymes with JoJo Dancer's alter ego - or Ducky's portrayor -
which is the same as he who warns townsfolk the British are coming.

The course that is now on this site was a previous AOTD and has a multimillion dollar waterfall on it.

Rees' New SC Coastal Design - Sports' Places of Fame.

Numerous AOTDs near here.

Shares a design heritage with GCGC.

Scott -
Same architect did a course about 20 miles south of this one with the same distinguishing feature in the title.

Although that one was a little more "attractive" (kudos if  that clue leads you to the name).

This NLE course is Briar Hall, in Briarcliff Manor, NY, designed
by Devereux Emmet.  This site is now the location of Trump
National, a previous (Under Construction) AOTD.

other clues include:

" could be a little more familiar to some, as the property hape
is distinct and looks awfully familiar..." = Trump N.

"Shares part of the name with a new course on the GM
Top 100 list that got some head-scratching." = "Briar's" Creek

"Apparently there are some cliffs nearby." = I assume Briarcliff
Manor is so named for some cliffs?

"Other part of name is last name shared by 2 alums of SNL in
the 80's" = Brad "Hall" and Rich "Hall".  FYI, Brad Hall is Julia-
Louis Dreyfus' husband and he directed her short-
lived "Watching Ellie".

"Intruder" to GM Top 100 is a current thread topic. = Briar's Creek

"Current course on this site is the Best Course in the State
(according to the owner) - recycled clue - in high-rent
district." = Trump National in Westchester County

"Rhymes with:
JoJo Dancer's alter ego" = Richard "Pryor"

"...or Ducky's portrayor" = John "Cryer" from "Pretty in Pink"

"which is the same as he who warns townsfolk the British
    are coming" = town "crier"

"The course that is now on this site was a previous AOTD and
has a multimillion dollar waterfall on it." =Trump National again.

"Rees' New SC Coastal Design" = "Briar's" Creek  - Sports'
Places of Fame = "Halls"

"Numerous AOTDs near here." = Whippoorwill, Sleepy
Hollow, Hudson National, Westchester (West), Quaker
Ridge, Fenway, Winged Foot, Wee Burn, Stanwich, and of
course, Trump National.  Probably forgot something.

Shares a design heritage with GCGC. = Devereux Emmet

"Same architect did a course about 20 miles south of this one
with the same distinguishing feature in the title." = Emmet-
designed Bonnie "Briar"
