From the article mentioned in the other thread (https://tourinsider.todaysgolfer.co.uk/july//the-open-how-portrush-has-changed) this quote:

    • THE 2ND: PAR 5  574 YARDS
Ebert says: There was always an opportunity to extend the green by pushing it back about 40 yards. It was a natural thing to do because this par 5 was playing so short. It will still be reachable, but basically we’ve replicated the Colt green but further back. Because the elevation is that much higher there’s a big run off on the left hand side of the green which didn’t exist before. Players will be left with a very tricky shot from low left. The green itself is fine but the chipping area to the left is awkward.  It looks like it fell off more than they wanted so they tried to shape in a mezzanine level to contain shots that just rolled off the edge of the green.  Thinking about "fairness" often leads to bad/unnatural shaping.

Assuming that (wish it were presuming that) the club takes up a spot in the rota, should they address that unforeseen faux pas?
