GCA tee shirt - Interested in a new release?
« on: June 13, 2019, 09:24:00 PM »
GCA tee shirts were sold in 2001 (hard to believe it has been 18 years  :o ) I have talked with George Pazin who did the first edition as a fundraiser for GCA. He has said he would be interested in a new release.

George will be posting a picture of first edition and potential tweaks for the new shirt.

This post is to check on interest level for new tee shirts.

I do not remember the tee shirt. Why not make it a golf shirt? I bet there would be a lot more demand. I'd buy one one and wear it on the golf course.

I would definitely be interested. Either T-shirt or golf shirt.

Have the t- shirt. (with typo) .Will photo and post tomorrow or Saturday. If I was modelling it, would look like I used a fish-eye lens.  Picture in reply 27

I think make it a golf shirt, so there’s no grey area about which courses Garland’s son will be able to play while wearing it.

If the clubs of Scotland are going to baulk at fashionable stretch denim, it’s hard to see them allowing someone to play in a t-shirt, even a t-shirt celebrating golf course architecture.

T-shirt here. Not a polo.

I have one of the golf shirts from a while back and would gladly be interested in whatever else is available as long as proceeds go to helping run the site.

But you got a few thous laying around to blow on clubs you never play.  Cmon JK, this is arguably a better cause....

If you are interested in a GCA golf shirt, please call Jason Yip in San Francisco @ State Apparel 415.244.4145 and he will walk you through the options.

I am definitely up for another Pazin t-shirt in part because my 15 year old son wears mine from 2001 as it no longer fits me  :'( :-X

Maybe George could offer it in navy too to minimize the food stains?

Thanks for the kind words. Not sure if I know how to post a pic these days, but here's an attempt, a rough approximation of what the t looked like:

I would like to tweak it. I'm a better printer now, 18 years later...plus if Golf's Most Beloved wants a navy t, by golly, he gets a navy t! (kudos if you get the reference)

I'm thinking I will try to make it look older, maybe distressed, maybe sepiatone.

Last time I did this, I think it was a flat fee that included shipping, and I donated everything minus the shipping expenses to golfclubatlas. I'm happy to do the same; honestly, it would make me feel a lot better, as I've been too poor to donate for quite some time, but things are going a bit better for me now.

Clicking post to see if the image thing works....

Also, the gca golf shirts are way nicer than anything I can do. I'm low rent, not high.

Last time I did this was a lot of fun for me, got to interact via email/phone/mail with a bunch of like-golf-minded folks who became friends - thanks everyone for that. Steve Lapper was even kind enough, along with redanman, to call when I blew out my knee a few years later, and offer thoughts and advice. (For those who don't know, Steve was a skiing fiend - pro! - who could relate to knee injuries, and redanman was a top orthopedic surgeon. 18 years later, I hope both are retired... :)).

JK, you're getting a shirt, whether you want one or not. I still have the buckle on my carry bag - BBGE? bag isn't with me. We joust a bit, but it doesn't bother me.

The only real question is, do I correct the spelling of Monterrey....?

I want a Plain White T, with the logo on the back.

I want an oompa loompa now.

I am in for a tee shirt. What type of material are we considering? Traditional cotton isn't the best for fitness, and few on this DB care about the cost differential of $5-$10 dollars. I would say, newish blend that stretches, in which GP is doubtless schooled.

I'm thinking neon pink or lavender, to honor Ian Poulter's 2nd round outfit at Pebble #BrooksDoesDoubleTake
