At a place where familiarity is king(queen) it will be a fascinating final round, and while no lead is ever safe there, that will really be true. In some cases, the lower spin will be an advantage-depending upon how the course is set up.
Wish I were going down 2 days earlier
I'm very interested to see how it plays for them.

I remember how differently they set up, say, Oakmont from the men to the women. Augusta doesn't have U.S. Open Rough, but those greens were slowed quite a bit for the women as compared to the men. I wonder how much they'll want to slow down Augusta National's greens. Would they go to 10.5?
I don't think the greens will be slow-they're not for member play.
They will be a bit softer than the men see them, but I was mainly referring to pins.
There's a pin on most greens that's a 1/2 shot harder-collection vs rejection.
They balance it pretty evenly in The Masters, but the final round has generally been more collection the last round. Some of the collection would not be known to them with a local caddie, particularly on the less seen front nine.
It will be interesting

When do the 15's get to see how Augusta would play for them?

Would be interesting to get the thoughts of the players in contention in preparing for an event while in contention with one delayed day left.
The quotes I saw, to a woman/girl, said that they liked being able to refresh and re-energize for the final round.

Well, what else are they going to say?  They are worried about the mobs of people who will be watching them?  They are worried the greens will be bikini-waxed?

[With apologies to Pat Summerall and Gary McCord.  Just pointing out that Augusta prefers those participating in their events to be controversy-free.]

Tom, it was Jack Whitaker, not Summerall, who made the mob comment

It’s been a laid back and enjoyable viewing experience, with not much competition, but a fair amount of drama coming from the final pairing.

Kupcho is playing awesome! Very impressive.
TV coverage isn't great, they aren't even giving yardages into the green on the par 5's which would have been nice to know.

A real Cinderella story as Jennifer Kupcho walked to the 18th green, met by joyful fans, knowing she is about to make history.  Pretty special.

I missed it, didn't realize it would be on in the morning time.

What were the greens stimping at?

Thanks, VK, I had hesitated to post that because I remember Summerall as a commentator, and I knew the "mob" slip was before my time.

Glad to see that the leaders played so well.  Kupcho looked like someone who will win a lot more in her future, and women's golf in America could really benefit from someone like that.

I only saw the telecast when the last group was on 15.  What struck me was that there were no women members of ANGC on camera a or even in attendance.  Seems like a big big oversight.

Did I miss it earlier in the the telecast?

The flow of the last round seemed very similar to the way the final round of the masters plays out.  I wish they would have put the pin on 12 to the right.  Other than that, it seemed that they used many of the typical sunday pins on the back nine.

PS  I hate the terms hole location and second nine.

There were ANGC women members (including Condi) in attendance at the ceremonial opening Saturday morning.

I thought the tournament was a huge success.  This will certainly be a repeat event and fixture.  I don't know if the excitement down the finish will be matched though.

The various pin placements were a nice combination of Masters pins, including many Sunday pins.  It was unfortunate they only had the one day at ANGC.  There weren't any huge blow ups which was great to see, and many of these young ladies played wonderfully.  The play from the final pairing was enough to keep you engaged, and honestly I don't think the ANGC host members could have asked for a better finish.  It was just as riveting as the most exciting Masters.  It would have been nice to see a few more PGA tour guys, I only saw Bubba - good on him!!

Kalen, given that we live in Utah - we are slaves to the overwhelming powers above - thus coverage for the ANWA was not on NBC as televised elsewhere as they covered the "general conference".  It was online, and also on Golf Channel in the evening (8pm).

We were down there and had a great time.   The hole locations that I remember were very tough.   2 and 7 were far right - I think 2 was about 5' from the right edge.

Watched several groups play 4, and all hit the green from their tee (the old Masters tee behind 3 green).   From what I saw there and elsewhere, the greens were playing very fast.   One ball on 4 hit about 5' short of the hole, and slowly spun back about 20', just like we'll see during the Masters.

Kudos to Augusta and to the competitors!

PS - I was there during the ceremonial first tee shots.   I'll never forget it.   Having seen Pak win her first major at DuPont many years ago to today where she is the catalyst for the greatness of South Korean golf was very cool.   Sorenstam, though - wow - what a swing!
