I remain a strong advocate of more tees (particularly shorter ones).  We need to make the game more inviting to a larger majoring of golfers and more golfers should be playing from shorter tees.  I generally argue against adding additional/new back tees as only a handful of golfers will ever use them.  And carts are part of golf whether we like it or not.  I personally like to walk with a caddie but i am in the vast minority.  Fortunately my course has caddies but I wish they allowed pull carts as well (they don't sad to say) which I would use.  Not everyone can carry their own bag.

Sweet Lou

Walking courses and using carts are not mutally exclusive.  Its issues such as mega tees which creates this exclusivity. If courses were much shorter back to front than it may be the push many need to walk.  As it is, as a confirmed walker, when I come upon this courses its a no brainer to ride because I know there will be endless dead time in senseless walks.

I think most newer/modern courses are less wide than orginal classic courses.  Its the added infrastructure, health and safety and length which has added to acreage...not fairway width.
