Thanks Jeff, I love his late 19th/early 20th century prose. Remarkable man. He was taken out of school at 11 to work as an office boy for $1.50/week because his father thought RSW was wasting his abilities in subjects he was already proficient in. Later convinced by a family friend to send RSW to teachers college at 14 he became a teacher at 15, then a principal at 19 in large public school in Montreal.
