Yes they did. They initially rebuilt the bunkers around 2009/2010 and gave them softer edges. I think it was an in-house job, and I always thought they looked awkward on some holes. I have not seen the course since this latest bunker update, but from pictures it looks like they've frilled them up and expanded some. Not sure if it was done in-house.
They've also been progressively widening the mowing lines ever since the course held the Western Am in 2013. On some holes, they've tried to take out as much rough as they could tee to green. Not sure if they're going to narrow the fairways up for the Palmer Cup later this year.
For as much flak as Alotian gets on this site, they do a fantastic job of maintaining an enjoyable course for the members. They keep it firm & fast, even with poor drainage in some areas. And there is short grass everywhere. If it wasn't an impossible walk, it'd be an absolute pleasure to play on a daily basis.
