Thanks to the generosity of many members in the golf community, I had the fortune of playing 13 new courses in 2018, bringing my total to 184. I was on a roll with 11 new courses between January and June, but starting in an MBA program this July drastically reduced free time/budget. Who would have guessed!? My top 10:

1. Whitinsville Golf Club, MA
2. Mid Pines Golf Club, NC
3. Cape Arundel Country Club, ME
4. Harborside International (Starboard), IL
5. Pine Hollow Golf Club, NC
6. Winter Park Golf Course, FL
7. Bacon Park Golf Course, GA
8. Quail Ridge Golf Course, NC – I have to say, I very much enjoyed the restoration of this Tobacco Road neighbor. I could have played the second over and over and over.
9. Ravisloe Country Club, IL
10. Sunset Ridge Golf Links, ME – this quiet, local course in my girlfriend's hometown had the most delightfully firm, dry, and bouncy conditions I saw all year.

Years of reading GCA has even given me an eye to appreciate great holes on any golf course. Here’s an honorable mention for my other three new courses.

Heritage Golf Course, NC
Twin Lakes Golf Course, NC
Zebulon Country Club, NC – now I only am missing courses that have started with J, X, and Y.

Sending my best to all members here for a fantastic 2019 season!

-Adam

As it seems this isn't just limited to newly-played courses, my lists includes some regulars. All are walking layouts.
White Bear Yacht Club
Royal Dornoch
Brora
Kilspindie
St Louis Country Club
California Golf Club of San Francisco
Sand Valley
The Sandbox
Mammouth Dunes
The Donald Ross Course at French Lick
So much golf to play, so little time....

I didn't play much, but where I did play was exceptionally good:

Cypress Point
Sand Hills
Los Angeles Country Club
San Francisco Golf Club
Prairie Dunes
Pasatiempto
Sunningdale Old
Sunningdale New
Morfontaine
Porcupine Creek (not architecturally great but one hell of an experience)
