Legends - Heathland
What did the course look like? It's been a long time since I've been back through Myrtle Beach. Last time I saw it, the myrtles we planted to look like gorse bushes were starting to look like trees!
Unfortunately the course was SOAKED the day I played it. It was during the summer, and we had gotten a ton of rain over the day or two before. With that being said, I thought the course was in pretty good condition overall. I can't recall a ton of out of place looking trees other than some that sat between 11 and 13 (at least I think those were the holes?). Seems like I remember there being some taller trees there. It also seemed like a few of the corridors on the front (maybe 5 and 6?) might have tightened up from what they were originally supposed to be.
I really should be able to remember more. I was single stuck between a foursome and five some going off the back (the 3 I had been paired with didn't show up). I think the round took 5:30 hours. As I told the guys behind me though, it beat the heck out having to tag along for mall/outlet shopping. Growing up near the beach I had never played it and wasn't going to wait any longer to play your closest course to me!
Despite the obvious issues with a Myrtle Beach resort course and the absurd amount of rain, I still had a lot of fun playing it. I would love to get another chance to play it in the future when it was a little firmer (if they ever stop watering it enough to let it get firm!)
