An exit strategy is a fantastic idea but most Superintendents do not have much time to plan for one; they are busy trying to make water into wine with unrealistic expectations placed on course conditioning without proper financial support and facing site limitations.
Indeed Course conditioning is by far the most important influence to the average golfer determining if a course is good or not..... that should not be ignored and should be prioritized properly by management...... but not to a point that it costs hard working individuals their job.
The Ego has to stop driving clubs and expectations need to be relative to the current set of resources.
