Yes, I particularly liked his assessment in terms of a balance of power, ie in the hickory era, the courses had the clear advantage over the golfers; in the persimmon & steel era, there was a balance that lasted a long time, from Nelson & Hogan all the way to early Tiger Woods; and now in the graphite & titanium era, the golfers have the clear advantage over the courses. I hadn't ever read it put so succinctly.
