I need to come to my old friend Jaka's defense here. I'm 39, and have been going to Vegas pretty regularly 2-3 times a year for the past 10 years or so, and before that maybe once every few years.
I bring my clubs to most places when I travel, but I've never brought my clubs to Vegas. In fact, the Wynn Golf Club is the only place I've ever played in Vegas. Wynn is far and away my favorite property in Vegas. In fact, my friends and I have had several trips to the Wynn where we didn't leave the property the entire weekend. With that being said, I fear for the long term future without "Uncle Steve" leading the helm. I too was excited to hear about this "Pleasure Park" which he had envisioned.
As far as the Wynn Golf course goes, though it wouldn't be my every day cup of tea, it really was pretty cool to be able to step out of your room and me at the first tee in the matter of minutes.
Eric,
The Country Club Restaurant unfortunately closed last year, but is being replaced by a Thomas Kellar concept which I'm sure will be great. However, these new "celebrity chef" concepts definitely go against Steve Wynn's old moto of not hiring a chef for his name unless the chef would actually be cooking you the food...alas.
