The Ringer & The Buck Club
« on: October 24, 2018, 10:05:32 AM »
Hey gents, I just got back from a weekend at Sweetens Cove for Zac Blair's event called "The Ringer". I know there has been lots of discussion about his project but thought you all might enjoy an update. Architects Rob Collins and Tad King have finished their master plan for the site and Zac is working with partners to secure the land and financing. The event they all put together was the most fun I've ever had on a golf course. Great folks from all over the country and even one gent from London came to experience Sweetens Cove and get a taste of the Buck Club. I put together a recap video with an extended interview with Rob about the project and what he has in store at Sweetens. See link below to view that on my Youtube page. The project is very ambitious and they believe it will be ready to start in the first half of 2019. I'm excited to watch the progress.

For those who may be interested in additional info on Zac, TBC, or the Ringer, below is the link to my new story from G&E Magazine. There will be a companion interview with Rob Collins out next week also.

Jay, congrats on a great article and being part of what looks like a fantastic weekend. At what point do you make an appearance in the video below. Just to put a face on the words. Wow, those No Laying Up guys are good.

Hey John, It was certainly one of the best golf weekends I've ever experienced. Just plain fun as we all like to see! In the NLU video, which is so well done, I'm the guys hanging out behind Zac around the 3 minute mark. I was shooting for my own video so you'll see me with my phone there.

Very clever having your logo on your phone. I'll look for you in the press pools of all the majors!!!

Great meeting you at The Ringer, Jay.

If anything, I was an early The Buck Club skeptic. But I've been blown away by the vast number of people that are passionate about the project. When people saw on Insta that I was there, I had a dozen people message me asking if I got any information from Zac about national memberships and whatnot.

At least more than any recent golf course project that I can recall, there will be a certain "cool" factor to being an early member. If the golf course itself lives up to its early hype, the place has a chance to be very special.

Oh, and if Rob Collins can make something like Sweetens Cove out of that ridiculously flat property, I'm intrigued by what he can do on a better parcel of land.

The guy in the red jacket hitting wedges is my buddy. Nice video and I selfishly hope the Buck Club gets off the ground, since I have a house in Utah and while the golf there is plentiful and reasonably priced the vast majority of it is pretty mundane.
