Rolling Hills is on tv right now on the PAC12 Network hosting the PAC12 Championship. Very neat looking course. Very rolling. Show repeats at 6:30 pm and 9pm west coast time on Sunday..

Been my experience that many courses won't advertise their aerification schedule, so whatever you choose in fall make certain you know!!

Fwiw I couldn't imagine a more fun way to have a late day followed by dinner than 9@ terranea followed by a get together  spectacular location

given that i now live near wilshire CC, would love to participate. depending upon how things shake out over next handful of months, i may also be able to facilitate guest rounds at a private club in greater LA area even on a weekend.

Yeah not exactly much of a commitment for an event with no schedule or venue huh?  I will play some very valuable vacation days from KSA to attend this one if known before November of this year.

Gray,

It's not a chairman we're looking for, it's a venue!

I know I am hoping for a commit from Rolling Hills as a featured venue then everything else will fall in line based on dates available for that course.
I love golf, the fightin irish, and beautiful women depending on the season and availability.

Seems this thread went dark. Wondering if there has been any luck with an anchor course?

If not, as a long time and currently intermittent resident of LA, let me offer some thoughts.
1: DMK's Rolling Hills is great as is Rustic Canyon.
Though a nice pairing, do understand with current LA metro traffic, Rustic and Rolling would need an Elon Musk Hyperloop for reasonable travel betwixt the two.
I would suggest a tighter grouping. Like Rustic Sat/Sunday with Saticoy or Wilshire as a Monday Bonus
Same with Palos Verdes or Rolling Hills.

If anybody has actually grabbed the reins, I will be in SoCal this Fall/Winter Spring and would assist the effort with knowledge of the LA basin and having hosted a Mashie. Would love to attend a KP.

Just wondering if a venue has been chosen for next year?

I just visited Silvies Ranch in Eastern Oregon and I think it would be the perfect venue.

There is a new reversible course designed by Dan Hixson, There are 2 courses played in different directions. There are 2 courses the Hankins and Craddock making up 36 holes. There are 27 greens, 9 greens are out of play every other day depending on the course being played.  There is also an extreme 7 hole par 3 with goat caddies, a regular short par 3 and food and lodging on site for up to 40 golfers.

Its out there but I think its worth the trip. Portland is 5 1/2, Boise is 3 1/2 and Bend is 2 1/2 hours away.

I would volunteer to lead the charge if the group decides the venue works. Is there any interest in the Kings Putter being held at Silvies Ranch?

I'm sure an outing at Silvies would draw some interest, but I doubt it would be more than ten. Silvies rate structure may be an issues, as we are a frugal bunch.

The thread that fathered this thread was a discussion about bringing the King's Putter back to its roots in California. I hope that happens. Maybe Jerry Blumberg could update, by PM if preferred.

I would love to play, as would my son, if he can make it out from DC.
