Opponents of a plan to add a bowling alley to a central Pennsylvania golf course have rolled a strike with Commonwealth Court.
In an opinion by Senior Judge Dan Pellegrini, the state court overturned a ruling by a Lebanon County judge that backed the proposal to move the Cedar Lanes Bowling Alley to the Royal Oaks Golf Club.

Most bowling takes place at night. So it may make use of the parking lot when it may be empty. But in todays economy they couldnt find a vacated retail space for the bowling alley?
I love golf, the fightin irish, and beautiful women depending on the season and availability.

Good article by Larry Hirsh on the " highest and best use" for golf course properties specifically citing this topic:

To achieve long term economic stability golf courses need to consider the concept of highest and best use.  If that use can include continued operation of the golf course everyone wins.  If the golf course becomes another housing development, who knows?

When I was growing up in the 60's Wee Burn CC had a couple of bowling lanes and Winchester CC had a crown bowling space as well as a curling rink (both of the latter are now gone....).  Weston CC still has a couple of bowling lanes, as far as I know.
Life is good.

Any afterlife is unlikely and/or dodgy.
