Trouble is they don't have very many interesting courses. Other than Davenport and Broadmoor (Indy) there aren't many I get excited about. They had Pete Dye GC but its gone.
Are there any you like Buck that I'm overlooking?
I haven't played Broadmoor and live a couple hours away is it worth the drive? As Philip said with ClubCorp you go where you are going and see what's there. To me this is the better model. If I'm making a golf trip I'm going for great courses or good and convenient. I've only played Dormie and Ballyhack and while nice they aren't courses I'm planning a trip around and aren't in locations that I find convenient.
There are some ClubCorp places I've enjoyed.
I am about to move away from Dayton and lived on Dayton CC which I enjoy. Locally Traditions down near Cinci is pretty nice as well.
I've considered making a weekend trip to Omni Bedford but didn't make it happen. Each year I took trips up to Firestone and really like the front 9 on the west. A lot of people like the North.
I liked Saddle Creek, in the Stockton market (if nearby).
If you want to make a trip, heading to Atlanta, Palm Desert or Toronto give loads of different options.
I get they are totally different models and I guess that is the point Wade is making. I do wonder if it will work out for Dormie Network. It's not a model I'm particularly interested in.
