For the PB experts what is the purpose of the bunker about 60 yards short of the 12th green?
Be the ball

I haven't watched that much but what I did see tells me that a top level pro who keeps the ball in the fairway will just eat up the course.  Wind was the only thing that stopped these young guys from going really low - I saw lots of wedges into holes which one would think would play really long.

Who gives a crap about front pinnable hole locations on 14? That's like softening the road hole bunker to add pinnable locations near it......
Big drivers and hot balls are the product of golf course design that rewards the hit one far then hit one high strategy.  Shinny showed everyone how to take care of this whole technology dilemma. - Pat Brockwell, 6/24/04
