A fair few as it happens.
Edenbridge (Skeynes) - Without doubt the shittiest course I have ever played. Good riddance to this festering pile of crap.
Langton Hall - A very short lived 9-holer, near Market Harborough, which had aspirations of being the home of England Rugby Union. Now a USGA spec sheep meadow. Designed by Hawtree. I surveyed it for its official course measurement. Played it twice and both times couldn't find anyone or anywhere to pay a green fee. Might have been a symptom of the problem.
Lamerwood - Once a posh oriental-owned country club near Harpenden, but gone now. Still just about recognisable as once being a golf course on Google Earth. It was quite pretty. Designed by Cameron Sinclair.
Whitekirk - Suffered by comparison with its illustrious East Lothian neighbours
Mentmore - They might have been resurrected in the last year or so. Not worth the bother.
Inchmarlo - It was alright, but nothing special in an area full of good golf.
East Aberdeenshire - Not missed and barely noticed by anyone when it was open.
Royal New Kent - I hope and pray this amazing course can be saved.
Stonehouse - Ditto above, but I fear it is too far gone to invest the money it needs to make it a going concern.
Riffa, Bahrain - Well, I was rather responsible for destroying it to make way for a new course in its place.
...and on its way to Dignitas
Southwood - A pretty cruddy but handily located pay-and-play which is going be closed and turned into a park. It won't take long to convert given the minimal care it gets now.
