All of us in the biz have so many fond memories of Pete. One of mine involves a car. A day after ASGCA, I had stayed over, and happen to see Pete at breakfast, and he sat down. He said he was waiting for someone to deliver a Rolls Royce they owed him. Don't recall the exact nature of the story, but had something to do with someone in Japan using his name on one of Perry's courses, and Pete demanding some kind of compensation.
Was also embarrassed to be on a flight with Pete and Alice, and sat in my first class upgrade seat, while watching them trundle to coach, stopping to note First class was too expensive for them. Still maintained their Midwestern sensibilities.
Too many stories come to mind when I realize I will never talk to Pete again, even if I see him. A real treasure in the Mark Twain, Dan Jenkins storytelling mold. And, storytelling was only the second best thing he did!
