Common Ground (Colorado)
« on: February 20, 2018, 11:18:16 PM »

This course appears to have some very well conceived strategic bunkering.  What are some of the holes that are most fun to play ?

Also which approach shots at Common Ground  are most scary or most fun to execute

thanks !!

My favorite hole on the course was the short par-4 8th. A very fun hole to play, with several different options - either take on the right fairway bunkers in order to have the better angle into the green, or play safely to the left but have to hit over a greenside bunker and a little mound 50 yards short of the green

I enjoy the approach to #13. A good drive down the left makes this hole pretty straightforward, but if the drive is more center or right, the angle becomes quite a bit more challenging, with bunkering to the right and a pushup green falling away in the back and on the right. Both long and right are no good so taking on a back pin requires some mettle.

A lot of the golf holes at CommonGround are really designed by my three associates, but that's the one I spent the most time tinkering with.  It was short and wide and flat when we started, with no real features between tee and green.
