I just read Brad's first article.  It was good.  I would assume he will not be with Golfweek since Golf Advisor now has their own ranking etc.  I would hope Brad can fix Golf Advisor.  I'm not a fan of the service since it is fueled by Golf Now.  Gol Now is just plain bad for golf.  But TV everywhere has problems and Golf Now is what made money for Golf Channel last year.  It's all going in a different direction with purchase of Revolution golf and Titleist pulling out of ads etc....going to be interesting...

Mike,

Yes, it is true.  It was just recently announced that Brad is leaving Golfweek, and his helm as the leader of it's Rater group and Architectural Editor.  He will most certainly be missed in that position, but I wish him nothing but the best of luck and success.

I just read Brad's first article.  It was good.
I didn't think so, but then again, I thought he'd actually tell people how to appreciate golf course architecture a little bit more than just saying "walk" and "the back tees are irrelevant" and some other silly things. It didn't do much of what it said it was going to do, and thus, I was disappointed.

I like Brad, but I disagree with point #2 in his article: 2. Architecture starts when the ball hits the ground

I believe that the impact of architecture starts long before the ball hits the tee.

I'm also not sure how this impacts architecture:
6. If you want to play it like the pros, finish out your two-foot putts

Most amateurs that I see, rake in the 4-5 feet putts (isn't "feet" the plural of "foot"?)

The article was fine, but this move feels like a loss. Golfweek seems to be withering on the journalistic vine. First Dave Seanor, then Jeff Rude, then Jeff Babineau and now Brad Klein. It’s a sad reflection of the dissipation (or devolution) of sports journalism.

Golf Digest will be digital only before the year is out...

Will interesting to see how long before a handicap system comes out of all of the "Golf Now business stuff"....

 8)  I wish Brad well in his new adventure, and look forward to reading or hearing his thoughts as long as he offers them up.  If he makes you think a little or want to challenge something, then I guess job accomplished!
