I was send this email, I don't know whether it is bogus or not, but if anyone knows anything abut Addington Court you might like to add your bit. Mark.

Sorry about the first post it got locked out of the system. This is perfectly legit. It is from the greenskeeper at Addington Court, Daniel Ede, and he wants to learn more about the three courses there. He dates it back to 1907 (Tancred Cummins). I have a reference to 1910 in a book by FW Hawtree, and Cornish and Whitten give them as 1931, variously by one or other Hawtree and JH Taylor. Any help you could give would be much appreciated.

This from the Croydon Guardian and Surrey County Gazette of 23 November 1907 proves the date but reveals that Mr Cummins was in fact the secretary. The course was laid out by Fred Collins, the professional from North Wales Golf Club, whose owner was behind the development.
