For me, Rustic Canyon jumps to mind. Challenging, but rarely "hard" or "punishing." Wide so that as your swing gets tired, the fairway may still contain a wayward drive. Mostly downhill over the last few holes (though the trek up to the 16th tee the third time would be a chore). Has a ton of ways to play it, so that you could easily say, for example on the third go round, let's just play with 3 clubs. (I have played 36 in a day there and made an effort to deliberately play multi option holes differently in the second round). And an abundance of holes that you want another shot at after playing them, even if you scored well.

Then on the second day you'd get new hole locations which makes a lot of the holes play quite differently.

Not many suggestions from this side of the pond so I'll give you...

Brora!

I used to do this all the time as a kid while on holiday there, sometimes more than 54 in a day I would imagine. Its very easy to turn left off the 18th and tee off again on 1 for many reasons... not long or brutal, still a good challenge, good variety of golf means that its probably a slightly different challenge on the second or third go, oh yes and its bloody good fun!

Cheers,

James

I would have to put Prairie Dunes as my number one.  I have never done more than 36 in a day there but I may have to put 54 on my late April goals with Jim Tang and Brandon Urban!

I am a bit disappointed Mr Doak didn't include Dismal River Red in his "most fun" courses!! I was lucky enough to walk 130 holes there one day last June for my first Hundred Hole Hike! I have played it many times and consider it a great time! Multiple ways to play many holes! The par 3 5th is one of my favorite holes anywhere! I put it a close second behind PD as it is near and dear to my heart!

Sand Hills would be another great option!
