Very strange that I happen to have played almost all of my golf as a youngster on 2 Emmet courses, Mechanicville NY Golf Course, and Rye NY Golf Club.  Really the only 2 courses that I played regularly for my first 15 years of playing the game..

I was not aware of Emmet or that he had designed the courses until I started reading this site 40+ years later.  Neither course does anything to attribute their design to him. The Emmet designs likely greatly influenced how I view courses.

A recent view of Huntington CC.
There has been a lot of grassing work and tree work since many of you have seen the course with Robert. The work Robert and Glenn did was outstanding. The work Glenn and I have been doing is to emphasise the architecture and land. We've tried a few times to put the original 4th green (middle right edge of image) back in play, but to date, we still are not able to get the membership to embrace the original green. They like the right green in the trees.
