Taking Air Out of the Golf Ball
« on: November 20, 2017, 07:22:38 PM »
The Wall Street Journal today has a story on the USGA initiating research on reduced distance golf balls. One for the Club Player and a reduced distance ball for Tournament Players. Potentially leaving it up to the course which ball of possible several to use. Obviously good for playability of classic courses but creating a different playing field for players of different abilities. Thoughts?

I am all for holding golf balls at the current level for 100mph and down, while dialing down the compression effects for people at much higher swing speeds.
