I was trying to be ironic about Dornoch - it is not a surprise, if that did not come across it is properly due to the fact that English is my second languish.
I will no go into detail about why Dornoch is my favourite course since it would be too long a story - but you can be sure that it has very little to do with the relationship between me being a woman
and the length of the course. In that case most men should find it too short to bother much – but that does not seem to be the case.
Anyway I ought to tell you that my average drive is around 240 y (when the driver is allowed out of the bag) so I do not always play from the front tee (In case my English let me down again I just want to let you know that I am not trying to show of here
).
Well about women and GCA – another long story (see Paul Daley’s Book Architecture). There is room for us out there but I don’t believe that the number of female architects will come to reflect the number of female golfers - it is too tough a business, with too many technical details, and too many male developers to ever happen (if I wrong on this one that’s ok).
About SA I will be in the Johannesburg area but might also make it to Cape Town.
