If Sheldon Cooper can have "Fun With Flags" I don't see why  Bogey can't have "Fun With Mounding (careful, gents)."

Two thoughts stick in my mind:  1) Tom Paul's concept of "steeplechase architecture;" and 2) Tom Doak's comment that the abrupt, micro shaping often incorporated green-side in Pete Dye's designs was a function of Pete telling his shaper to "muck that up a little over there" or something to that effect.

The lease expensive options are mounds which would redirect the ball upon landing, ideally maintained at fairway height and no more than a couple of feet high.   I believe Banks or perhaps Raynor referred to these as "deflection plates" on their drawings.  They are most prominent at Knoll West, though generally on the greens.  There are two small ones on the front of the Biarritz at Forsgate.

I've sketched a few - who knows I might even post them if capable (I can always use a volunteer to help).
