I had the pleasure of playing CC of Scranton earlier this week and, quite frankly, I was blown away! I had heard it was very good but I thought it was simply outstanding.
The vistas, green sites, bunkering, routing, just about everything about the course was exceptional. It is a poster child club as to what tree removal can do for a course.
Kudos to superintendent/GM Greg Boring and his staff for what they have accomplished.
If anyone has played there since the restoration I would be curious if you were as impressed as much as I was....and where does CCS rank in the pantheon of Travis courses?
I have played Stafford, Yahnundasis, Orchard Park, Onondaga, Cherry Hill (pre- restoration), Equinox (pre and post Rees Jones renovation) and Ekwanok and I put Scranton ahead of them all, IMO.
