Tim Liddy provides commentary.  I played this course many times as a kid.  I believe that the course they use is a combination of the back nines of the North and South 18s.  The tour does not show the severe undulations of the greens which may have been softened over time due to increased green speeds.

While the architecture discussion in the video is interesting my thoughts are (1) the trees have grown a lot in the last 30 years and (2) this course used to be way out of town and now appears to be in the middle of town.

I played the North course here a few years ago. I thought it was solid golf.


If I lived in DSM, I would likely look at Wakonda first, but 36 holes at Des Moines Golf would be pretty good (especially if you lived/worked in West Des Moines).


I'm looking forward to watching some this week.
