Who among us would not encourage the ball to "get in the bunker" if in proximity to Ran?  Is this really good golf architecture?

Mike, I always say "Get in the bunker!" because I know that I am more likely to get up and down from there than I am if my ball ends up short......

Who cares under the new rules. Just drop it wherever you feel like and move on. Bunker and lost ball are equal one stroke penalties.

Mike,

For me its more about the aesthetic that really works for me...I love how its all tied in somewhat natural fashion!

That being said, I'd much rather have a lie in that hay in the foreground..i generally do better out of that stuff than the bunker..

If I take my ball out of the bunker and drop outside, it is at least a 2-stroke penalty for me.  Now if the GCAs designed holes which had tight lies between the bunkers and the greens I'd be in hog heaven!

It looks like a great natural retaining bunker that avoides the ball getting lost in the native shrubs. It seems really well tied in.

Where is this? South Australia? NZ?

"get in the bunker" is just one of the new cool sayings for white belts just like  "what do I need to hit to cover" or using two digits to give a yardage " you are five-six to the hole" meaning 156 yard shot "but you can cover at four zero" meaning you can be putting and clear the bunker at 140 yards....lots of this stuff is included in the top pocket of most tour bags

I sometimes say "get in the bunker" because I'm a D- at chipping and pitching.  Does that make me a bad person?
