« on: May 27, 2017, 11:14:39 PM »

I have a friend visiting  Wisconsin  (  from a long distance)   in  late August-  September .  Is touring this site in Spring Green  worth spending a few hours  ?

thanks !

If he has any interest in architecture he'll love it.  There is a visitors center where you decide what areas you wish to visit because its a 600 acre complex not just one house.  If the person has only time for one thing do Wright's home Taliesin, not the Hillside School.  Although all of it is very interesting.  If this person is a golfer then I would suggest bringing clubs and playing the 1969+/- Robert Trent Jones designed golf course nearby.  All is about 50 minutes west of Madison, Wisconsin.

I am scheduled for a 3:00 tour of the house tomorrow afternoon. Have previously been to Taliesin West. I'm really looking forwarded to making a comparison between the two.

I have not yet been to Taliesin but I have visited Taliesin West in Scottsdale a few times. Well worth it. Quite an experience. I have also visited Fallingwater in western PA,the Oak Park neighborhood in Chicago, the Guggenheim museum in Manhattan, the David Wright house in Phoenix and the Beth Shalom synagogue near my former home in Elkins Park, PA. I'm a big fan,   ;D
