So, this is where the fun REALLY begins. The mad, blind uphill par three third hole.

The yellow flag isn't the flag. It's the safety device. The green is over there behind the black and white stake. I bailed/failed right both days.
Gotta love the property and this third hole, kind makes me think old Willy had bigger balls then any living practicing architect! Great tour Marty thanks!

That is such a cool hole.
Seeing this helps me get over the abomination of a course I watched on TV earlier...
Isn't it amazing , with all the expensive overdone garbage on display in modern golf, that his hole and Shiskine itself are considered an aberation.

Thanks for the tour and apologies for being Mr Pedantic but wasn't it Fernie who did the design ? Could be wrong but I know he was heavily involved at some point.

Dear Mr Pedantic,
 ;)
From the club website:
"Willie Park is noted as designing and creating the existing 12 holes, using then unutilised ground, a small slice of farmland, and reclaiming and stabilising semi-beach that had been utilised over the years 1925-28. "
Yours,
Mr Smartarse.
PS Fernie earlier...

I was lucky enough to visit Shiskine for the first time, just in May.  Thanks for this great opportunity to re-live our day there.  If you go, I recommend the Blackwaterfoot Lodge for accommodation, etc.  The proprietor David is a careful and conscientious fan of real ale and good whisky (and gin, which is apparently the latest trend).
