Re Divine - it's a bit like listening to a Rolling Stones record, once you've heard one etc etc.

Re Herman's book, that I have read although quite a few years ago. Quite a bit I knew but quite a bit I didn't. Shamefully we got taught very little of the stuff in there when I was at school, which admittedly wasn't yesterday.

I am reading it at the moment. My fiancee said she didn't know I could read so fast. I am taking it as a compliment, but don't know if I should be...

Forget about reading books. Watch some episodes of Rab C Nesbitt and Taggart, even Francie and Josie via Youtube and try to pick up a bit of the lingo, with some allowances for regional dialects. Buy a flat cap, try Irn Bru and have a go at singing along to 500 Miles in an appropriate regional accent at karaoke! :)
Have fun and a great time.

Understanding Nesbitt is tough!!!
