Corballis, Dublin

In pondering a future Irish golfing adventure I came across this video of Corballis GC - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WqQ0rrDqKY8 - and thought "ah, this looks nice" - and yet the course doesn't get mentioned herein very often.

What's it like? Thoughts, comments etc?

The use of drones & videos has certainly changed the promotion of golf courses. ;)

I played a few years ago and really enjoyed most of it.  Parts of the front were great... rambling links holes out by the sea.  The back nine was a bit of a letdown.

Best part is it is only 2 hours 46 minutes from Strandhill Golf Club.  ;)

Do they allow outside play?  Could not find anything on the website.

Cliff,

There is no inside play. It is a muni course, owned by the local council.

Under 5,000 yards with some cool (and unsafe) stuff going on.

Ally is on it.

It's a muni and a relatively fun play for the cost.  If you get a chance to play with someone who knows the course that's a huge help as there's not much in the way of signage, distance markers, or yardage books (this may have changed since Golf Graffix has done a model now).  It also gets really, really firm in the high season.

If you're in a huge hurry or are looking to play the best of the best, it's probably a pass.  If you want a cheap warm-up links round off of the plane it's a great spot for that.  You can also play the first 12 holes and call it a day as the last 6 are relatively uninspiring.
