Stunning.  Just like the Josh Bills oil of the same green here on my wall, just one other way Al Stanger inspired others, I'm told.

Mhh, I was tempted to go for something from Castle Stuart or Royal Dornoch with the gorse in full bloom but I'll go for this one of the 9th green at Wick.
Mainly because I've waited 13 months since playing with Kevin Markham where the river was like glass and I saw this in my head. I know most places get it calm every second day but the combination of a tidal river and the wind rarely getting below 10-15 MPH here makes this an extreme rarity. Not as perfect as it was in my mind but I'll keep an eye out for it happening again :-)

My submission is one of the most thrilling shots at Cabot Links: going for the green in two downwind into the Gulf of St. Lawrence on the 15th.

No comitee this year to reduce the choices? It is really tough to decide between all of these great photos.

A. Jon Wiggett - behind the 7th green at Tobermory
B. Matthew Delahunty - Aussies wearing old clobber and playing with hickories

There seem to be two kinds of photo - one a 'snap' taken while passing or during a round and two, very thoughtfully composed with careful use of light and background etc but with scenery that happens to be golf related. Both kinds are nice in there own ways though. Just saying.

some cool pix!  I would have gone with Delahunty for Cat B, but he broke the rules.  There were a few very good pix for Cat A whose colours looked over-enhanced/unnatural so they were chucked out.

I'm fully aware that this is too late for the contest, and I'm under no illusions that it would have won if I had met the deadline, but I thought I'd post a little eye candy of the 12th green at Enniscrone, taken at this year's BUDA Cup, while you're voting on this year's contenders.
