Ceibo Valley GC(Savignac) Las Olas, Ecuador

A few weeks ago, I played golf with another senior golfer. He told me  he retiring again from Arizona to Las Olas on the Pacific Coast in Ecuador, a residential golf community. Here it is:

The architect's "resume includes working closely with Pete Dye on such projects as The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island and Jim Fazio on Donald Trump’s world-renowned Mar-a-Lago." Does anyone know him or anything about this course?

No, I do not know the name Kris Savignac.  To be fair, there were a lot of guys involved with the Ocean course at Kiawah, and I only knew the two in charge.


Someone there must be familiar with my work, though ... the first golf course picture on their web site is taken from the 5th green at Pacific Dunes, looking over toward the 6th at Bandon Dunes.  None of the pictures is of their own course, as far as I can tell.

Short version:  he's built two courses in Ecuador.  His experience at Kiawah Island was during its renovation in the 1990's, not the original construction.

I went back a second time and see that two of the other main pictures are of Friars Head and Old Macdonald [the Old Mac photo is a bit blurry, but it's from behind the 14th green looking back].  I don't recognize the others right away, but they for damned sure aren't Las Olas.
