I saw Cuscowilla in another public course list...when did they become public?  Is it more of a resort "stay-and-play" type public access?

Nice to see 5-6 courses from Michigan on the list although only a few would be my choices to be placed that highly. However I have not played Arcadia Bluffs yet.

Cuscowilla is "moving out" because as of 1 January 2017 the club is fully private.

Was there some recent work done at Troy Burne?  Seems odd to go from completely out to top 70 for a course that's been around for a while (at least 10-12 years or more based on the time I played it).

Seems odd they'd let it be on the 2017 Public List then?

As I recall, prior to this year the club allowed "stay and play" packages to the public and also some limited weekday tee times so I suppose it was included in the public/resort list.

Why is the Prince course still on this list? It was closed when I was in Kauai in 2015 and I can't find any indication it ever reopened. The renovation they refer to was in 2012 if I'm not mistaken.

Bill, I wouldn't be surprised if it took Troy Burne that long to get the requisite 25 ratings to make the list.  It's not that far from the Twin Cities, but there are so many other options in that area that it may have taken the raters some time to get around to it.

Well, either:

A. Surrounded by the Westin and St. Regis, they decided to just bulldoze 150 acres of highly-regarded RTJ-designed golf back into the ground....or....

B. Insert adjective that best describes your ability to use the internet....{HERE}.... ;D

Could also use....C. OMG, you uncovered a friggin' Hawaiian conspiracy that fooled the good people at Golf Digest. But NOT YOU!!!!

I don't believe so. I might of just hit its minimum number of panelist votes?

Always appreciate an attempt at humor here, but that really wasn't very helpful...

They didn't bulldoze it, yet. But last when I was there Jan 2015 it had been mothballed pending renovation. We played Makai and walked a few holes of the Prince--they had big plans of taking it private. My limited and obviously impaired use of the internet suggests that no one has actually played the course in 2.5 years, or is likely to do so anytime soon. Which brings me back to my original question...

This list should be titled "100 Ressons to Join a Club".
