Golf's Most Beloved and his Most Beloved
« on: October 23, 2016, 07:46:59 PM »
On September 27 Golf's Most Beloved took his Most Beloved Fritz Diedrich to the alter of Cannongate Kirk in Edinburgh whereupon they were married in front of a full church of 6 people including the minister. Following the ceremony they led a procession up the Royal Mile to a decadent luncheon at The Witchery.

To happily ever after.

Which apparently included a trip to the Outer Hebrides to review the Isle of Harris Golf Club. True love knows no bounds.
Congratulations Ran and Fritz!!!!

Congrats Ran!  I'm one of the fortunate few who have gotten to meet Fritz, and all I have to say is that you have massively out kicked your coverage!

Best wishes for much happiness.

Who says one can't tell things from a picture??  i don't think Ran's smile can get much larger!

If Duke Ellington was around to see Fritz, he'd say "My, but don't you make that dress look good!"

Congratulations, Ran. May the years of peace and happiness abound.

Ach yes!
Those Edinburghers do like to turn out in force for momentous events.
My birth in The Haymarket region in 1950 didn't elicit such a delirious response!
One could have imagined that this stunning couple might have turned a few heads as they paraded up The Royal Mile but as you can see narry a response from the populace...they're a dour lot these Scots!
Congratulations to both of you and may happiness reign.

Cheers Colin

Congratulations you two, but I must inform you that the Scottish Chapter of GCA is taking a very dim view of this missed opportunity for us to don the kilt and perform our renowned "Mashie-Niblick Guard of Honour". This oversight is being taken very seriously here at MacKenzie Towers.
We are currently rifling through our collection of telegrams, telexes and faxes trying to find the lost invitation to the grand event.
Questions will be asked in the Scottish Parliament - and also possibly at the pub.

I was able to have a pint with the newly weds on the evening of their nuptials. A happier and nicer couple you couldn't find, and while we tried to keep the golf chat to a minimum, it was a tough proposition. Congratulations again Ran and Fritz!

Wow congratulations. It would be interesting to hear Ran's story of why they chose to do it over there. I keep leaning in the direction of the home of golf not knowing them both that well but I know I'm clearly missing something. Maybe a family thing, country of origin etc etc or just a romantic location.

That picture of Ran was all I needed to see to convince me that Edinburgh is where I need to be on New Years Eve. With God as my witness I pledge to renew my vows in the hope of finding a fifth of the happiness captured in that one moment. What vows exactly...there is a long list.

In all seriousness I have been fortunate witness Ran and Fritz together in their home and they are a rare gift to each other and everyone so lucky to cross their paths.

Maybe there is a connection? I was thinking that this is the most interesting collection of course conversations that I have seen in a long time on GCA.com BEFORE I saw this thread.
