Nebraska National Golf Club

Does anyone know anything about the University of Nebraska's course that has been in planning for at least the past 5 years?  It's supposed to be a 27-hole private club just North of downtown Lincoln by a few miles.  I did a mock design of some of the facilities in a high school architecture class, but haven't heard anything about it since then.  If anyone knows any information as to the architect and timetable, etc. it would be much appreciated.

I had almost forgotten about the Nebraska National project until you brought it up.  Last I heard, it had stalled in planning and I have heard nothing since.  Be interested though if that’s any different?

I was wondering if they were using the same model as at Texas A&M with Nicklaus design, A&M logo, Golf team gets to use it, but its private.  That model did cause some stink.

An article I saw on the web says the project was put on hold several years ago.  Dated September 2002, so maybe something has changed since then, but here is what the article said...

"Golf project suspended

The Nebraska Alumni Association Board of Directors has voted to suspend development of the Nebraska National Golf Course project.

The project was to include facilities for the university's new golf management program, turf grass research program, and the men's and women's golf teams. Given the state of the economy, lack of secured investment partners and potential infrastructure costs associated with the chosen site in northwest Lincoln, the board decided to put the project on hold."

I am sure if all works out in the end Landscapes Unlimited will be involved.
