Howard Riefs...Beyond the Links
« on: October 18, 2016, 01:31:47 PM »
Howard is one of our most prolific and valuable posters, yet I know so little about him. Can anyone provide a link to a thread that may illustrate his opinions or courses that he loves.

Just what this site needs. Another Kingsley thread.

We don't know much about Howard because that's the way he wants it. Unlike some around here, he never makes it about himself, it's always about the work....

John:

Best I can do is a link to a thread on a Dunes Club outing that you both attended.

This one's on you for not sticking around for dinner.  Might not have to ask your question if you had.

I don't recall the food but I can't erase some very drunk conversations at the Dunes. Like I've ever missed a meal.

If I recall you chose the tables at the casino instead of the one at the restaurant in New Buffalo.  Your loss, unless you won, then its a mixed bag.

A most enjoyable outing -- not withstanding completing dinner and discovering the flat tire on my car. But I definitely do love the Dunes Club...

The King of the Links is a bright, sociable and engaging fellow. Great company on the course and in the 19th hole.

Probably the only one of us who, after getting hurt right before a GCA outing, would still drive down three hours, and spend three days walking golf courses just so he could hang out with everyone.  Kind of strange if you ask me.   ;D

In his spare time, he moonlights as Food Network celeb, Geoffrey Zacharian.  (I think so, at least.)

He's CIA. Clearly. Cover: Howard Riefs. Family Man. Likes to travel for golf. Meanwhile his database - the audacity and misdirection of actually posting "links" is classic OSS procedure - of miscreants and political subversives keeps growing, and you chumps keep inviting him to your clubs. He's just waiting to "play" Congressional! "Howard Riefs" my ass!

Fixed your error, Joel.  ;D

Howard is the only Cubs fan I've met for whom I will be genuinely happy if they finally break the curse this year. THAT's how nice a guy he is.

Although I wouldn't be happy for Howard if it happens this year, I would reluctantly tip my cap.
