I played Quaker Ridge about a year ago....

and had an incredible morning.  What a great course!  But something odd happened at the second tee.  My member host told me that I wasn't allowed to use MY ball.  I had to use one of the club's balls to hit my tee shot on #2.  I was told that the resident of a home about 200 yards off the tee to the right had filed a lawsuit against the club because of golf balls and players trespassing on their property.  So using the club's marked balls allowed someone to track the actual number of balls entering this resident's property.  I'd never heard of anything like this.  I must admit, I felt a little extra pressure hitting that tee shot and thankfully, I hit my normal draw instead of a slice into the resident's yard.  I saw on Golf Digest today that the suit has been resolved....

Unbelievable amount of work by the Club's President, Board and General Manager.

The article doesn't mention the 3 specimen trees moved to the rough in front of the house in question.  The largest is 75 feet tall?    Never seen anything like it.

A rare victory for common sense.
