The current thread about Peter Thomson and Brora got me wondering who would be in my dream 4-ball and which course we would play GCA wise.

As a Peter Thomson fan, PWT would be one of my four. The two others, well Seve would be one and the other would be Joyce Wethered. A great thinker, a genius and the lady thought by many to be a rather special player. All would be playing with clubs/balls even clothing from their prime playing era.

And the course? It would have to be TOC in a 2-3 club wind with the course playing brown and beige and bouncy.

Thomas -if I take the task seriously it's tough: I mean,  who wouldn't want to golf with Hogan or Trevino or Snead or Watson...but yet, as actual playing companions I don't think I'd really want to spend 4 hours with Mr. Dour or Mr. Gibberish or Mr. Hustle or Mr. Know it all. I think I would like to have a leisurely and good-talk-filled golfing day with Ben Crensaw, Francis Quimet, and Byron Nelson, and I think I'd like us to gather together at Walton Heath, with a proper lunch between rounds, and dinner and drinks afterwards.

Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

I like Matthews thinking. Cypress Point would be the venue as in my dreams is probably the only way I'll get to play it. My playing partners would include one lady also in the shape of Her Majesty the Queen. Due to her advanced age she would be allowed a buggy. The other two would be Lee Trevino (my first golfing hero) and Gandhi, simply one of the finest men there has ever been. Ghandi would get special dispensation from me to tee up every shot in case he decapitated a worm or something, and the club would give him special dispensation for not wearing shoes. Now obviously Gandhi is dead so Ben Kingsley would need to stand in for him.

Wonder why Cirba got married if he knew you felt that way! :D
