The new greens are growing in nicely and are firm yet receptive (at least for now as they are being regularly top dressed). In addition to great new pin positions on every green there are now subtle internal humps, ridges and and ripples that have added considerable interest to the putting surfaces.
Bunker work has been undertaken only on holess 1-3, 8, 9, 11, 16, 17, 18. Work on the course has subsided substantially as the resort is moving into its peak fall season. Work on the other holes as well as additional work on some of the already addressed holes will likely start again in December.
At the moment, the bunkering looks a bit disjointed but I am sure that Kyle Franz and his crew of extraordinary talented shapers will unify the all of the design elements over the coming year.
Here is a photo that Kyle took from the tee box on the par 3 16th. The sea of love grass has been removed and the bunker that was previously obscured is now quite visible. Throughout the course much of the love grass (not indigenous) is being removed and where appropriate is being replaced by native wire grass.
