OT - Archie Baird
« on: July 11, 2016, 04:21:22 PM »
Skratch TV just posted a video with Archie basically putting modern golf to the sword in 1 minute 6 seconds.  You can view it on their Facebook page.

Full disclosure, I introduced them to Archie and they are hoping to do a longer feature on him in the coming months but this taster is pretty funny.
2011 highlights- Royal Aberdeen, Loch Lomond, Moray Old, NGLA (always a pleasure), Muirfield Village, Saucon Valley, watching the new holes coming along at The Renaissance Club.

Mike Whitaker and I had a really good one hour visit with Archie in his wee museum in Gullane in May 2015.  What a historian and gent!  At 90 I think he still plays at least once a week.  No one who visits that area should miss a chance to meet Archie.

Awesome.   Thanks, Simon!

I'd suggest removing the OT from this thread.   If his commentary isn't specifically architecturally related I'd suggest one could interpret it that way.

The best courses are indeed like "cuddling a nice girl".   ;D

Glad you liked it.  He's so sharp for his age.

They asked him about the Masters and his response was very funny.  Hopefully that will be in the longer piece.

Thanks Simon

Thanks for sharing Simon. My favourite part of the video:

Thanks so much Simon. Mr Baird is a gem. I'd love to meet him one day.
