Walton Health Club. Really?
« on: June 17, 2016, 02:06:55 PM »
I generally don't mind golf broadcasts. I listen close enough to know what is happening but usually don't care. There are some things that are irritating. Joe Buck very matter of factly stated that one player qualified at Walton Health Club. C'mon Joe do at least some of your homework.

Congrats to them but I'd rather be the player who qualified at Walton Health Club. (I'd demand a post-round massage for my troubles.)

That's fine. My irritation came that he didn't even know the name of this world class world famous club.

I almost posted that but I am still amazed they think Pittsburgh would be offended if Oakmont was described as playing like a links course. I think that Holly announcer is the worst interviewer in history.

I'm surprised, you're surprised. Joe Buck is an idiot. He is a terrible baseball announcer, and even worse when doing golf.

Maybe it's just me, but this year, sans Norman, the coverage seems worse.

Do they have a microphone in the cup, or is the sound you here after a putt drops canned?

If it was canned they would keep hitting the button at the wrong time.

I've been wondering the same thing. The sound of the ball in the cup seems too perfect.

Joe Buck is about as good as Chris Berman, which is to say not at all. But I do enjoy Azinger, Faxon, and Ken Brown.

I agree. It's just you.

It's true.  Microphones in all 18 holes.  And I'm delighted they hired Ken Brown.
