How can the reigning Masters champ be a dark horse!   ::)

If we're doing two picks.  I'll take DJ first and Jason Day as my backup.

P.S.  Phil is just not on form.  I know he has a history of great finishes at the US Open but he hasn't won in 3 years and hasn't been in contention at the US Open since Merion. To boot the last time it was held at Oakmont he missed the cut, so in Shivas like fashion I'll eat my hat if Phil even finishes in the top 10.

Thunderstorms are likely from Thursday noon on, okay for the rest of the tournament.  Quality players who could complete their round and avoid the catching up to schedule include Bubba Watson (T-7 at last Oakmont open) and Patrick Reed,

They guy with the most patience who is hitting it well.  My theory on Oakmont is that it rewards solid ball striking more than great putting because if you are not hitting greens, you have no chance.

Jason Day appears to have the best all around game these days, and knows how to close the deal.  Spieth seems jittery, with the Augusta debacle in the front of his mind.
