So sorry to hear about Scott.  He was a class act and a super-nice person.  He was a great deal of fun to be around.  My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I played with Scott twice at OK.
I enjoyed his company.
He was a gentleman and excellent golfer.

Here's little more insight.

Services for Scott were held yesterday in Chatham, NY:

It was an absolutely perfect golf day as seen from his house for a luncheon after the service:

On a day like that, I felt a need to play an "Old Dead Guy" course, so I played Copake Country Club on the way home. Copake Country Club was designed by Devereux Emmet in 1922. I really loved it and it had some amazing greens:

Matt Wood will continue to be a golf partner, maybe we can get him on GCA.

On my upcoming trip to St. Andrews I will take one picture and one only. Wherever my ball lays after 70 shots I will take a pic to remind me of Scott and how I may aspire to be as good a man and golfer as he will always be. I can't be responsible for what will happen if I break 70.

Died peacefully in his sleep in North Berwick on a golfing trip to Scotland.  Would love to have that on my tombstone.  Condolences.

Mike,

Could you reformat those lists for those of us who choose not to have a Google account?

Wow, thanks. It's fun to see what is both on and off those amazing lists. No Whisper Rock, I'm surprised Scott wasn't a member.

Just saw this.   :'(

Can't add much more than the great things said already.  There has been much sadness in the world the past week, and yet reading this is the one thing that got the allergies going.  Played with him several times...a great guy as has been said, but the most memorable time was perhaps the tour of Olde Kinderhook he gave me in the rain.  Just realized it was almost exactly a decade ago.

Such a fitting last round......get 'em UPNDOWN some more, Scott.

I will clean up the photos on this thread and send to Scott's family now that I have the new system(s) figured out.

Here is John K's picture from The Old Course where Scott Wood shot 70 on the eve of his death. From John:

"My ball on the Old Course after 70 strokes. 16 just past the Principals Nose. Took 12 more shots to shoot 82. Thought about your friend the entire round. Only picture I took. "

Thank you Mike, I will never forget standing on that 16th tee staring out into the polo field knowing my picture may be of my ball over the fence out of bounds. It was a privilege having Scott along for the ride.
