BUDA Cup 2016 - Caddies or Carts Anyone?
« on: May 03, 2016, 04:00:59 AM »
I've had a request for information on caddies at both Carne and Enniscrone.

The weblinks to the relevant information follows.

If anyone would like a caddy, or an electric trolley then please let me know and I can block book for us. Both courses are physically demanding, so your shoulders may welcome the respite!

We have booked two carts for Carne. Jerry Kluger has reserved one for both days. Bryan Izatt is interested in the other.

There are no power trolleys at Carne, just pull ones.

They do offer caddying services at Carne, but these must be booked.

I shall contact Enniscrone with confirmed requests for either caddies or carts. Please let me know ASAP.

Robin,

Am I right to assume that both courses have push trolleys that don't need booking?  I know I'm only there on the Monday but I'll be planning on carrying unless there's a threat of rain, in which case I'd want to push/pull a trolley.
In July I will be riding two stages of this year's Tour de France route for charity, including Mont Ventoux for the William Wates Memorial Trust (https://rideleloop.org/the-charity/) which supports underprivileged young people.

Any chance of getting a cart for me at Carne, Robin?  I walked the course (including the partially competed Jim Engh (now Ally McIntosh) 19-27) 6 or 7 years ago and it nearly killed me.  I'm pretty sure I can handle Mulrannay and Enniscrone (although I'm not 100% sure of the Donald Steele holes at the latter, which I only partially walked).

Please let me know.

That's right.

Rich

We only have two reserved for our group and I don't think there are any more! Jerry has reserved one and we may have to shuffle yourself, Bryan and Thomas to fill the other three seats. We'll work it out as best we can and if we can scare up another buggy we shall.

Thanks, Bryan.

At the worst I'll have Josie carry me up the hills.

I've managed to secure a third cart for Carne on both days, so that's six seats a-begging. So far I've seats saved for:

Jerry Kluger
Bryan Izatt
Thomas Dai
Rich Goodale
Conrad Gamble

Seems like Thomas will need a co-pilot from the European ranks and I expect Josie will partner Rich on one of the rounds.

Robin,

After reading some of the reviews and comments about Carne on the web, and as I have no desire to prematurely and permanently end my personal aging process, I think I'd like to request a caddie for Carne.  I'd be interested in knowing what the rates are, but that's not going to affect my decision making process.  Caddie fees are cheaper than funerals.

I've tried the link repeatedly but keep getting page not found error.  I'll keep on trying.

Slightly modified address Steve, but this works. €25-35 plus tip.

Steve

I've booked you a caddy for both days at Carne.

Conrad has crocked his knee, so he is getting one of the seats in the three carts.
