Guess this Mysterious and Obscure UK Links.

I will post a full photo tour later. In the meantime here is a teaser photo. Who can guess what UK golf course this is?

BH?
The White River runs dark through the heart of the Town,
Washed the people coal-black from the hole in the ground.

I know the course(s), but believe it or not, the photo makes it look more open than my memory suggests.

The secrets those whins must hold  :o

To my Uk friends. Let's not let the cat out of the bag to early.

Curious to see if our USA members have any idea! I'm sure that most don't schedule this one in on their Scotland tours.

Braid Hills.  Right in the heart of Edinburgh.  Played it just once and not when the gorse was in bloom.

Ok, James!

It's getting late here. But I will try to begin the tour on a new thread.

I played Braid Hills on the day I flew out of Edinburgh in 2003 (pre GCA for me-think it was a Finnegan rec)
I must say I don't recognize the picture though.
I remember the first hole, a high par 3 up on top, the views over the city, and a bunch of silly trees on a hole out near #12 or so

A personal favourite of mine right here in the heart of Edinburgh, but no, definitely not a links. After a period of dry weather it can, though play pretty f&f.

I'm glad you decided to brave playing the course Malcolm and look forward to your photo tour. In a previous thread on golf in Edinburgh you mentioned that you were rather wary of playing the course due to your impression of some of Edinburgh's more unsavoury golfers. I'm just thankful you made it off the course safely with your camera intact.  ;)

And you didn't call? I'm outraged!
I'd suggest catching up but I'm off to California and Hawaii tomorrow!!
Maybe next time!
Cheers

Okay Michael, I 'll meet you for a pint at the Grey Horse Inn on Dalkeith. We can both bring cameras and see how "welcoming" a reception we get. But seriously, I am now a huge fan of the Braid Hills Golf Course!

Martin, at least you got a head start on a tan these last three days in Scotland. I can't believe my luck with the weather this week!
